After visiting Granville Island, we walked west along the harbour wall to reach the Vancouver Space Centre. As we entered the Visitor Centre, we were impressed by a fantastic Crab Sculpture, wrought from Stainless Steel and acting as a gate guardian.
Now that's what I call artistic !
The Visitor Centre offered an impressive array of displays and demonstrations to explain the environment of outer space and the means we use of getting there.
Whilst most of the exhibits were aimed at kids, it was still a very interesting and enjoyable day out.
In addition to the displays and interactive experiments, we attended a 30 minute lecture by a very pleasant presenter, who explained about the dangers of outer space. In this she utilised a number of clever demonstrations involving lots of bangs, flashes and audience participation. It was all very well done and worth the visit.
