Memories of Bastogne

This collection of watercolour pictures were painted by Monsieur Henri Lochy.

He grew up as a boy in the village of Bastogne during the years 1939-1945.
He experienced first hand the occupation by German Armed Forces.
Later he witnessed the seige of Bastogne when American liberators of the 101st Airborne Division
engaged in a bitter conflict whilst cut off and surrounded during the winter of 1944/45.

At the time he did not possess a camera or any way of recording what he saw.
Instead, he later attended art classes and created this fine collection of scenes from his boyhood memories
